- Lenten Program–Lent starts on Ash Wednesday, February 14. We’ll worship at 7:00 p.m.
Lent: A Time to Laugh?
The Book of Ecclesiastes says
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven;…
A time to weep and a time to laugh;…
Those of you of a certain age silently added “turn, turn, turn” to that passage.
This Lent, I want us to try something that seems a little far-fetched. I want us to adopt laughter as our spiritual discipline. Rather than giving up chocolate, or taking on a traditional spiritual discipline, I want us to focus on the gift and power of laughter this Lent.
The class will meet on Thursday mornings, in person and over Zoom from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30. We will also meet Tuesday evenings, over Zoom only, starting at 6:30 p.m.
Session 1 The Gift and Power of Laughter

Session 2 Laughter in the Bible, Part 1

There is no book to buy, but you will be assigned to laugh each day, and observe what made you laugh and why.
Can Lent be fun? Yes, yes I think so!
